Maresa Sprietsma started as a PostDoc at the Centre for European Economic Research in Mannheim five years ago. She obtained her PhD in economics on the topic of the Economics of Education from the Université Catholique de
Louvain (Belgium) in March 2007.
Her methodological expertise are applied econometrics, in particular the causal analysis of educational policy and factors of educational success and inequality. She has worked on a variety of stages of the educational process from early childhood investment (Coneus und Sprietsma, 2009) to higher education research (Horstschräer und Sprietsma, 2010).
